Opinion Unchanged after 20 yearsFebruary 21, 2018By Jonathan S. (Anchorage, AK)See All My Reviews"I purchased and reviewed this set 20 years ago, and my opinion has not changed. The entire set drags. If you want to listen to a pedantic Rhapsody in Blue where each individual piano note is visible, and any nuance or nod to Jazz has been completely expunged this recording is for you. I originally felt that the worst seat in the hall had been selected for microphone placement, after listening with headphones, I believe poor engineering is the culprit; the orchestra is weighted to the brass and the balance between orchestra and piano is leans heavily toward the piano. Additionally, the disk is periodically punctuated by a low bass rumble. I am disappointed each time any track from this set presents itself in my playlist."Report Abuse
