This is a scholarly release devoted to Julián Arcas’ music and his famous guitar “La Leona,” made by the great luthier Antonio de Torres. Arcas was one of the finest guitarists of the 19th century. His music was powerful, thrilling, well composed, and very much linked to his own time. Stefano Grondona, who is currently rediscovering musicians connected to luthier Antonio de Torres, plays the original “La Leona” and gives new light to Arcas’ compositions.
