Notes and Editorial Reviews

Except for the 1926 recordings, the Polydor recordings presented here are the earliest examples of the art of Wilhelm Furtwangler. The recordings were all made between 1929 and 1936 and all items come from original Japanese sources. To the transfer engineer, the Japanese pressings had more atmosphere than the German ones.
