Notes and Editorial Reviews

"Six Moments Musicaux, op.16" by Sergei Rachmaninoff were on the program and proved to be an impressive climax. The six contrasting works are an early work by Rachmaninoff and give an idea of the typical sound of the composer. The personal interpretation of the pianist, (Evgenia Rubinova) fascinated by their poetic elegance and distinctive shape and appear to be the composition in a new light. Brilliant sparkling runs alternate with spirited passages. Passionate look at moving increases embedded in melancholy minor keys. With excellent grades at the ready, she raises her keys and can play it in an explosive sound noise of the Maestro Final. For the thunderous applause Evgenia Rubinova retaliated with two pieces by Felix Read more Mendelssohn Bartholdy. With her ??sensitive and gentle interpretation of "Gondola Song" end it was a lovely evening concert."

- Karin Burgmeister, Swabian Post, 01.10.2010

"Of Rachmaninov's scores Rubinova also can move powerfully without becoming the lioness. She managed to rise from pianissimo to fortissimo tremendously in the shortest space. And she maintained momentum - despite all the economic risks...time and again she worked out new highlights without losing the transparency. Chiseled and yet flexible."

- Loh, Westfälische Rundschau, April 24, 2008
