Landowska still wows October 18, 2014 By Timothy T. (Lee, MA) See All My Reviews "Wanda Landowska introduced me to the unique sound of the harpsichord back when RCA red label records were the ultimate audio recording medium. This album is made up of recordings that were made before stereo and the digital remastering didn't do a very good job of evening out volume or filtering all of the dust "pops" that vinyl is prone to. That said, I'm delighted to hear once again the incredible music that I remember from my youth. My particular favorite is the fugue from Capriccio on the Departure of his Beloved Brother BMV 992 in B flat, which still seems to me impossible for one set of hands to play. We also get the Goldberg variations, two and three part inventions and other pieces. If you can overlook the shortcomings of recordings made 60 to 80 years ago, this is a definite buy." Report Abuse
