Notes and Editorial Reviews
Horszowski's version of the Diabelli Variations, which was recorded first for Vox in the spring of 1952, comes over as an immensely accomplished performance-of terrific strength and dynamism. One feels the pianist being conscious of interpreting a colossal work, perhaps rather in the footsteps of Rudolf Serkin, who had made a speciality of the piece and whose interpretation Horszowski admired enormously.
