Takemitsu's 'Fantasma/Cantos' swells with dreamlike rhythms. Its ethereal harmonies continue with the peaceful style of the album while providing an unmistakable turn toward the contemporary. At ease with music of all ages, Meyer finds the common thread of serenity and beauty in each of these pieces.
