Maria Prinz graduated from the Hanns Eisler Hochschule fur Musik in Berlin. In 1981, she furthered her education with Jorg Demus in Vienna and the following year with Yvonne Lefebure in Paris. Ms. Prinz is the daughter of the renowned Bulgarian composer and conductor Konstantin Iliev (1924-1988), who played an important role in the development of her professional career. She began teaching in Zurich in 1983 and since 1987, she has been lecturing at the Vienna Hochschule fur Musik. She also has an extensive career as a concert soloist and as a chamber musician. She performs regularly with her husband, Alfred Prinz, the famous Viennese clarinetist and composer. Maria Prinz graduated from the Hanns Eisler Hochschule fur Musik in Berlin.
