Notes and Editorial Reviews

The Saint Thomas Choir presents here some highlights, all composed for a choir of men and boys, from its repertoire of unaccompanied (a cappella) music. The human voice is the oldest medium of melodic expression. Since a singer is both artist and instrument, he is capable of a direct communication of personal artistic sensibility in a manner which is the standard by which all performance on man-made instruments is judged. It is fitting that this purest, most fundamental musical medium be employed in man's purest, most fundamental activity: the worship of Almighty God.
