Good collection of reissued Walter/Mozart June 8, 2016 By Louis Galie (Leander, TX) See All My Reviews "It's a pleasure to re-hear recordings which I grew up with. The scratchy records have been replaced with excellently engineered digital sound. A very good collection of Mozart Symphonies, the Requiem, some overtures, and even a few violin concerti. At less than $2/disc this is simply too good to pass on." Report Abuse
Sublime recordings and remarkable bargain. June 7, 2016 By M. Elder (Pataskala, OH) See All My Reviews "When my Bruno Walter Mozart LPs were damaged by a roof leak, I had begun searching for CD replacements. Many choices and editions were out there on the market. Then this collection appeared. This bargain set offers no documentation - just discs with the special warm, affectionate, and beautifully recorded Bruno Walter interpretations, mostly from the last years of his life. I have read strongly negative reviews about the sonic quality of this particular reissue, and almost hesitated to purchase it. But I heard no problems at all. Rest assured, the stereo recordings are splendid, and the few mono recordings are, well, mono. Sounding just like all of the Columbia mono recordings from around 1950: a bit dry and cramped, but very clear and listenable. Don't pass it up. These box sets seem to disappear rapidly."  Sounds great to me October 5, 2014 By Christian B. (Price, UT) See All My Reviews "You may safely take refuge from the period instrument movement with this great set. Excellent recording quality, superb playing with a big glossy orchestral sound, played with great enthusiasm. Fantastic set." Report Abuse
