Notes and Editorial Reviews

"...as close to flawless as vocalists come... At every point one simply is content to revel in the crystalline beauty and purity of her voice, the faultless breath production, intonation, evenness of vibrato, coloratura technique, and diction." -- James A.  Best Christmas CD for the Worst Reasons December 4, 2012 By Clifford H C. (Thompson, MB) See All My Reviews "When I saw the email that they were re-releasing this Christmas relic I almost choked. This Recording has given me the most Christmas joy for all of the wrong reasons. Listening to Kiri te Kanawa sing the "Twelve days of Christmas" has got to be one of the funniest things in the world. By the end of it, she sounds like she is looking to fire her manager. But it really is not all Kiri's fault. A lot has to do with the orchestration... never have I heard a cheesier version of the Twelve Days of Christmas. But the absolute worst is "Marys Boy Child" with the worst fake calypso background music I have ever heard. Song after song will really kick your funny bone. I give it 5 stars because there is not a single Christmas since 1990 that I haven't gotten together with friend to mock this horrifying album. (So bad... it is absolutely perfect)" Report Abuse
