| These Haydn offerings (with the exception of Hob. XVI/49 which was recorded analogue) were among Alfred Brendel's first digital recordings for Philips and still remain among his most satisfying. Brendel's performances are aristocratic, yet never at the expense of Haydn's lighter and often humorous nature.
