area. In the booklet notes, Kim states that the program is designed to transport listeners back to the 1920s—a large American romantic-style organ being used to play music largely inspired by (or at least very appropriate for) that sort of instrument. With the exception of Saint-Saëns’s Fantasy in E?, most of the works are not frequently recorded, and Kim is to be commended for choosing less-familiar repertoire. All but Alexandre Guilmant’s

are brief. While not one of the pieces is a truly great composition (and several are exceptionally insubstantial, such as the two pieces of Cyril Jenkins that bookend the disc), the CD makes for pleasant, light listening and is well played. Recorded sound is very good and captures the instrument well.
