Pleasant but shallow February 12, 2017 By Gail M. (Goleta, CA) See All My Reviews "The suites on this disk are played with liveliness and care by these New Zealand musicians, and they are well recorded. There are a good variety of pleasant themes, orchestrated with plenty of dynamics, but these compositions lack depth and coherence. I found it hard to remember the themes after listening, and the music does not build up any emotional effect, so there is little to encourage repeated listening. However, this disk certainly provides a good opportunity to hear these pieces played about as well as possible." Report Abuse
