Notes and Editorial Reviews

The Husum festival "Rarities of Piano Music", continues to offer the kind of daring programs which most concerts avoid. Even after twelve years there seems to be no shortage of worthwhile works to fill eight recitals; new pianists come to play, familiar ones return all to participate in this unique and intimate concert environment. This selection of works from the 1998 festival cannot hope to represent the wide range of music, but it contains some particularly rare works otherwise absent from the record catalogues. As always, these are truly "live" and unedited recordings chosen with the kind cooperation of the artists, as well as with regard for their obligation to their regular record companies.
