A Great PerformanceSeptember 22, 2014By owen ryan (lakewood, CA)See All My Reviews"Yehudi Menuhin, one of the 20th Century's great violinist, was an admirer of Zino Vinnikov's art. As a young Soviet Violinist Vinnikov won the 1966 Int. Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow and other prestigious competitions. He became a professor at the St. Petersburg Conservatory. In his subsequent performing career he has received critical acclaim. So what we have here is an acknowledged master of the violin conducting a performance by a talented violinist in what is generally considered one of the most technically difficult works for the violin. The result is a wonderful performance recorded by the skilled engineer, Dick Lewzey. This CD is a 5 star work in all respects."Report Abuse
