Notes and Editorial Reviews
Award winning pianist David Fray – named Instrumentalist of the Year in France’s Victoires de la Musique 2010 – retains his focus on Austro-German repertoire with his second CD of concertos for Virgin Classics: Mozart’s Concertos Nos 22 and 25 with London’s Philharmonia Orchestra under Dutch violinist-turned-conductor (and Music Director of the Dallas Symphony), Jaap van Zweden.
On this album David Fray performs two Mozart concertos with characteristic elegance, panache and imagination as revealed in this short video. Fray speaks with youthful humor but also maturity and insight. His style and physical enthusiasm matches the fine Philharmonia Orchestra under Jaap Van Zweden. Fray's awards also include
"Révélation Classique" (Classical Discovery) from ADAMI, the "Jeune Soliste de l'Année" (Young Soloist of the Year) from the French Language Public Radio Coalition, and the Diploma for Outstanding Merit from the Hamamatsu Competition.
