Notes and Editorial Reviews
Okay, seven CDs of music for the French horn is a bit much, but Hermann Baumann was an excellent player, and this set basically gives you all of the classic repertoire for the instrument that you’ll probably ever need. You get the four Mozart concertos, Strauss’s two, concertos by Haydn, Telemann, and Glière, as well as short works by (among others) Weber, Beethoven, Saint-Saëns, Dukas, Chabrier, Weber, Czerny, Rossini, and an entire disc of music for massed hunting horns that you’ll probably find enthralling the first time through and then never need to hear again. One of the advantages of the mass licensing and reissue of major-label catalog material is the opportunity it offers to complete your collection in one fell swoop.

So no complaints about artistic quality or engineering, and you’ll know just how badly you need this.
