Notes and Editorial Reviews
Oort Cloud is a piece for accordion, saxophone and electronics by Danish composer Jexper Holmen. This is the World Premiere Recording of Holmen’s breakthrough work from the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival.
The composer described the piece as a “sphere of sound, inspired by the cloud of comets believed to surround the solar system a light-year away. The music is extremely slow and relentless, not unlike a cosmic disaster.”
Jexper Holmen is a composer of extremes - a classical composer with a penchant for the likes of Aphex Twin. One that enjoys placing the soft noise distortion of ambient electronica alongside radical thinking.
