Elegant, Regal Early Baroque January 26, 2016 By E. Rebeck (Duluth, MN) See All My Reviews "This music (to my ears) evinces the transition from the Renaissance to well-known later Baroque composers such as Handel, Vivaldi, et al. This recording doesn't have the lushness of those later masters, but it does have an intimacy that I find deeply satisfying. The instrumentation (including sackbuts, dulcian, and recorders) provide what I'd call a "dryness" of sound that is regal yet somehow introspective. A delight." Report Abuse
