Since 2006 Michael Nyman has been working closely with the Austrian Film Museum's Vertov collection composing and performing music for Vertov's Kinopravda 21, A Sixth Part of the World, and The Eleventh Year, the later whicc was premiered live in Weimar, Germany in August 2009. This recording combines the music from two original Nyman soundtracks written for the Vertov films A Sixth Part of the World and The Eleventh Year. In 2002 Michael Nyman composed a new score for Dziga Vertov's Man with a Movie Camera. This new recording completes the Nyman trilogy of Vertov film soundtracks.
