Great Selections from Tchaik! September 5, 2012 By Richard F. Buckley (Jefferson Hills, PA) See All My Reviews "I usually don't go in for excerpts from musical masterpieces. I like my selections complete and in context. Yet, when I came across this offering I couldn't resist. It includes so many of the great composer's fabulous repertoire that I thought I'd try it. Many of the selections included are complete, but, as I suggested, a few are excerpts. Included are the Piano Concerto No. 1, the love theme from Romeo & Juliet, the adagio from "Pathetique," a few selections from Swan Lake, etc., etc. And the music features outstanding orchestras and artists like Ashkenazy, Dutoit, Gergiev, Grumieux, von Karajan, Marriner, etc.

When you are in the mood for continuous Tchaikovsky, this 2-CD set will deliver over two hours of delightful music to your ears. Highly recommended."
