Notes and Editorial Reviews

A celebration of music in the meeting in 1520 of Henry VIII of England and François I of France. Musica Antiqua of London is a group of five leading British players of renaissance instruments, drawn together by a passion for the richness and variety of sixteenth century music and for the instruments which bring it to life. All members play at least three different families of instruments, so the group can provide 'whole consorts' of recorders, shawms, crumhorns etc as the music requires. Musica Antiqua has appeared in major Early Music festivals at home and abroad, and has made several recordings for BBC radios 3 and 4, including one nominated for an international award.
