This Ninth Is Elysium IndeedMay 4, 2015By W. Hector (Wyandotte, MI)See All My Reviews"Recorded originally I in 1961, Szell and the Cleveland Orchestra got the Ninth just right, for me a matter of an engaging tempo. Sony did not miss anything with this reissue, the music, soloists and chorus all crystal clear. I listened to this CD on my vintage Marantz 2275, Sony changer and old, pure Klipsch Heresy speakers that have a power, clarity and range that do classical music proud. I highly recommend."Report Abuse
Szell & the Cleveland RockJuly 27, 2013By p. james See All My Reviews"What a joyful interpretation Szell and the Cleveland deliver in this just right energetic performance - I was ready to cheer long before the chorus raised their triumphant voices - this recording is a splendid experience!"Report Abuse
