Almost five decades have passed since Georg Hann's death in 1950; during all these years recordings of his wonderful voice were always available on LP, but in the CD era, it has been different. Now Preiser hopes to correct the situation with some of his best work here on one CD. The fact that the largest part of his best known recordings represent the singer in celebrated buffo-roles might create the impression, especially among a younger generation which never heard him on stage, that his artistic interests were somewhat restricted to roles such as Baculus, van Bett and Kezal.
