Notes and Editorial Reviews
Bernstein's second New York Philharmonic recording of Ives's Symphony No. 2, issued in 1990, is every bit as lively and alert to eccentric detail as his previous account, taped three decades earlier. But the patience and insight revealed in the more recent account are persuasive, and the disc also includes breathtaking versions of Ives's "Central Park in the Dark" and "The Unanswered Question."
