Notes and Editorial Reviews

Here is a terrific CD compilation and should find a market. It is billed as a sensitive and thoughtful guide to music for the Christian burial service. The booklet includes helpful notes on how to plan music for the Funeral service and the CD itself contains suggestions for hymns, psalms, anthems and solo organ music, with examples. Priory Records is Britain's largest producers of Anglican church music and the selection of the music on this CD was taken from recordings they have made over the last ten years. It is a fact that today, more and more people are pre-arranging their own funerals. Well, here now as part of this process, we have a disc which presents selections that can be chosen either by oneself as part of the pre-arrangement or Read more by ones family. In the program booklet, there are very helpful suggestions about the character of the music presented and how it would best fit into a funeral service. Read less
