Notes and Editorial Reviews

The Nutcracker suite has emerged spic and span and vividly coloured and only in the "Waltz of the Flowers" is the ear drawn to a certain glossiness in the violins. Of course the orchestral playing is quite splendid (the characteristic dances are a delight).

Karajan and BPO is the best in the wolrd. July 25, 2013 By HERBERT HSIN LI (Aberdeen, NJ) See All My Reviews "This is the best version that has ever been created. I doubt any recording can match or surpass this one in the future. Herbert von Karajan and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra is imcomparable. Every note is polished and harmonic to the whole score. Nobody can do better, forever." Report Abuse
