Bland title betrays gorgeous music  August 26, 2012 By R. Buenting (Kelowna, BC) See All My Reviews "The only reason I ordered this disc was for the music, not because of the appearance nor title of the disc.

If one is looking for the familiar music of Tchaikovsky, this is it ! On the other hand, works less well known (at least for me) proved most satisfying. This is an excellent disc to acquaint persons not normally attracted to classical music to the wide world of Russian passion and power."

Old Dorati/DSO Recording of Tchcovski's !812 Over August 25, 2012 By James A. Johnston Sr (Lake Orion , MI) See All My Reviews "This Old London recording is dull and unexciting. I have heard the DSO play this work out doors at Meadow Book Festival Venue. They were exciting with live canons. This recording was disappointing.Perhaps it was the lousy accoustic in old United Artists Theater in Detroit " Report Abuse
