After bursting onto the international music scene in the 1974 Leeds International Piano Competition, followed by a half-dozen years of rigorous concertizing, the Brazilian pianist Linda Bustani withdrew from both the concert stage and the recording studio. With the beautifully turned performances that constitute this recording, she announces her triumphal return.
Bustani has a very refined finger technique, and yet she consistently favors tempos that, while never too slow, enable the listener to appreciate moments that are too often passed over hastily.
