Romantic Gems June 30, 2014 By Henry S. (Springfield, VA) See All My Reviews "Belgian composer Henry Vieuxtemps produced a series of exceptional violin concertos, and on this excellent Naxos disk we hear two of them- Concertos # 2 and 3. Bursting with lyricism and joyful melodies, these works are about as authentic as any representative work from mid-19th century Romanticism is likely to be. Violinist Misha Keylin and the Czech Republic's Janacek Philharmonic Orchestra combine to offer glowing and polished interpretations of Vieuxtemps' concertos. This is lush music, easy on the ear, and makes for an overall delightful listening experience. So if you are interested in some authentic Romantic violin concertos, you aren't likely to find anything more attractive than Vieuxtemps. Highly recommended." Report Abuse
