Excellent Performances and Recordings April 29, 2017 By owen  ryan (lakewood, CA) See All My Reviews "Kudos to Chesky for rescuing these very good performances and recordings from the dust-bin of forgotten greats. Neither of the conductors are well known today but they certainly had the ''right stuff.'' The choice of Mozart's Haffner and Jupiter Symphonies plus Haydn's London makes for 67 minutes of listening pleasure. These 1962 recordings were set down by Decca's talented engineer Kenneth Wilkinson. John fowler(The Obsessive Compulsive Reviewer's review of the art of Leibowitz) informs us that these recordings came from a 12LP set marketed by Readers Digest. I must have got this CD on sale from Arkiv sometime in the past because I rarely pay $17- for a disc. If price is not of concern to you, I strongly recommend this gem from Chesky." Report Abuse
