difference between 755638 & 45846 March 30, 2012
By Paul G. (Tipp City, OH) See All My Reviews
"VERY STRANGE!! The 45846 (which possibly is where 755638 originated)
is a great recording. How can one possible deprecate Ax, Stern, Loredo
& Ma, playing Brahms Chamber Music!!?? Anyone should be extremely
pleased to own this and MAYBE the 755638 is great too, I don't know and
I'll tell you why. There is a pressing error in the last
part of the second disc that came with 755638. I would have returned
it, but even with your "freebee" the cost of shipping it back made it
more sensible to keep. Anyway that is the reason why I ordered the
45846. I am more that happy to critique anything for you. My mother
was a fine classical pianist and the ONLY thing she ever gave me credit
for was really being an excellent judge of music!! I am extremely
defensive of any challenges on my ability in this area.
We lived in Dayton, Ohio and mother frequently performed with the
concertmaster of our Philharmonic. I know these compositions by
heart and can remember hearing them performed in our living room."
