Excerpt from a review of a previously released edition of this set:
Blomstedt grinds out the menacing climax of the first movement development in the “Unfinished” as well as anyone, and in “The Great” C major Symphony he shapes an eloquent interpretation without a single dead spot, culminating in an overwhelmingly energetic finale.

Franz Schuberts 9 SymphoniesJune 27, 2020By Ira C. (Wyncote, PA)See All My Reviews"I wasnt absolutely sure I needed all of Schubert's symphonies when I ordered these five discs, but after hearing them, Im glad I did. They are glorious additions to my symphonic collection and I highly recommend them to yours. And the price certainly is reasonable; each disc averages out to cost only $3.00! Wonderful performances. Clarity of sound. The beauty of Schuberts themes. All in all, marvelous music."Report Abuse
