First Rate DonJanuary 24, 2016By J. Tatnall (West Grove, PA)See All My Reviews"Remembering a fairly vivid performance from Salzburg through Great Performances I recently bought this recording. I am pleased to say it is was worth my investment. This is a fine performance, well paced, sung, and played. Karajan brings out some textures that others leave behind or hidden. Generally it is lighter than many other Dons on disc. The cast is well chosen and form a fine ensemble. This could easily be a first choice."Report Abuse
