Historic Swedish Charm December 3, 2016 By bess holloway (Boulder, CO) See All My Reviews "This new recording from dB Productions brings forward the works of violinist/composer Amanda Maier (1853-1894) as a world premiere offering. To my ear, the music is both delicate and poignant. There is a nice balance in form, with a violin concerto, a piano quartet and short Swedish tunes and dances for violin and piano. The booklet is generous with text and charming photos of Amanda Maier. Swedish violinist Gregory Maytan deserves credit and praise for presenting these compositions to producer Erik Nilsson. I predict that this lovely, up-lifting album will quickly rise to the top of your most-played list!" Report Abuse
