Notes and Editorial Reviews

Countertenor Franco Fagioli’s DG debut recital features a selection of Rossini arias. The first countertenor to sign exclusively to DG, Fagioli has chosen arias from a variety of “trouser roles”: male characters that were intended to be sung by female artists. For these virtuoso selections from Matilde di Shabran, Tancredi, Semiramide and many more operas, Fagioli is joined by George Petrou who leads Armonia Atenea.  Rossini one of my favorite opera composers April 7, 2018 By peter damato (lumberton, NJ) See All My Reviews "Has a great interpreter in Fabio Fagioli. Usually a counter tenor's voice is thin but not with Fagioli. I love the voice so much I wish there had been more vocal singing on the disc. But the disc is well worth the purchase to hear this amazing voice." Report Abuse
