Notes and Editorial Reviews

Zoltan Kodaly (1882-1967) composed his Duo Op. 7 for violin and cello in 1914. A masterful piece, both instruments equally show virtuosic technique and musical expression. Miklos Rozsa (1907-1995) is most widely known for his film scores, for which he won three Oscars. Prior to his Hollywood success, he composed classical works. He was particularly fond of the viola. For this program, his Sonata Op. 40 for solo violin and his Sonata Op. 15a for two violins have been chosen. Performing these outstanding works are violinist Szymon Krzeszowiec, violinist Bartlomiej Niziol, and cellist Adam Krzeszowiec.
