This is the soundtrack to the documentary film made by director Scott Hicks (Shine, No Reservations) which is now in theaters. The film has been short-listed for an Academy Award for Best Documentary (there will be 5 nominees, meaning it has a 1 in 3 chance of being nominated). The soundtrack is a survey of Philip Glass' compositional career and features music from Etoile Polaire, Saxophone, The Thin Blue Line, Symphony No. 8 and never-before-released tracks from Einstein on the Beach (from the 1984 Brooklyn Academy of Music production and a live recording of Philip Glass performing Metamorphosis No.2.
