Notes and Editorial Reviews

Precision and elegance: this survey of youthful Handel brings another delight

Glossa recently walked away with a Gramophone Award for its recording of Monteverdi’s Orfeo. This Handel recording boasts some of that set’s same virtues; a thrusting sense of spontaneity allied to (here, even more than in the Monteverdi) musical polish and committed vocal performances. And Fabio Bonizzoni’s own sparkling playing at the harpsichord is a treat.
