Repellant Regietheater Trash March 5, 2014 By Jim W. (San Francisco, CA) See All My Reviews "Mozart's sublime masterpiece is literally trashed by directors Jossi Wieler and Sergio Morabito in this absurdly incomprehensible concept mess. I would go on, but the production got in the way of the music, the singing and the story. Mozart worked closely with Lorenzo Da Ponte, so much so that the libretto seems to spawn some of this opera's most beautiful music. Everything flows so beautifully, the words are brought to life by the music and all of it has been deliberately torn down by the directors. Save your money, this Don Giovanni is worthless. Don't believe me? Watch some of it on YouTube for free." Report Abuse
