Notes and Editorial Reviews

Swiss pianist Olivier Cave presents a program that seeks the musical relationship to the keyboard by both Haydn and Scarlatti. Judging from the composer's approach to writing highly original piano music, Cave feels that Haydn must have known some of the keyboard music of Scarlatti. Cave states there are parallels and difference and the two composers come closest together in their slow movements. This program was built based on the scholarly advice of New York musicologist Elaine Sisman.
