Ludwig in a Box April 6, 2017 By owen  ryan (lakewood, CA) See All My Reviews "I bought all these recordings singly when they first came out on the Arte Nova label. When this label was taken over by Sony it seemed that these recordings were doomed to extinction. Kudos to Sony for releasing all these works in this budget boxed offering. This works out to $2.73 per disc-- what a deal. Although I've only kept the first few symphonies, I still have the overtures, violin and piano concertos. This set would be a great gift for the young person just being introduced to classical music. Also for those wishing to round out their collection. While for any one of these performances you can find a better one these are still for the most part well done and worthy of your consideration." Report Abuse
Thrilling Beethoven ! January 28, 2017 By bess holloway (Boulder, CO) See All My Reviews "All my responses to music are immediate, not comparative. Too much comparing exhausts the ear in my opinion. Zinman's leadership in these recordings I find highly satisfying." Report Abuse
