Notes and Editorial Reviews

Living in the centre of France, Gilles Ballet and Patrick Brun, both guitarists, first performed within a duet where they joined their own sensibility and musical culture. So they played and discovered at random other people's music. First came the contemporary repertoire - Stockhausen, Reibel, Constant - and after naturally came, as composer, Martial Solal and François Jeanneau with his 'Sept machineries...' When you've felt the real breath of improvisation, it's quite impossible to forget such an experience and give up! Then between the guitars and François Jeanneau a friendship was born and a great desire to play together in a quintet...
