Emily Mitchell, harp and vocalDecember 7, 2011By Neil S. (Fort Worth, TX)See All My Reviews"Just heard Emily Mitchell sing "The First Noel" on WRR 101 (streaming). This was one of those music numbers that compels one to inquire further by clicking on "Buy CD" for more information.
Emily has a beautiful soprano voice who not only accompanies herself on the harp but her voice blends remarkably well with the instrument. The result is a unique quality of sound.
I am not a music critic. Just happened to really like how she performed this song and intend to buy the album. A proper music critic would have a better way of describing the blend of sound.
The accompanying harp is arranged well and performed well although not well balanced in the recording. It could have used more mic on the harp to better take advantage of the blend of her voice with the harp. I would have rated it higher with a better balance. This was the only song I heard on the album.
