Notes and Editorial Reviews

Alexis Weissenberg is the ultimate shaker and mover of pianists, a Tamburlaine of the keyboard who deploys his force and cunning with a hypnotic verve and controlled fury... Weissenberg’s Scarlatti is superb. His musical quality may be less apparent when the virtuoso heat is on yet there is no denying his strikingly inflected brilliance... he remains among the most powerful and compulsive voices in twentieth-century pianism.

– Gramophone 2/1999, Bryce Morrison

Highly Recommended October 5, 2013 By Jenaire N. Lewandowski (Boston, MA) See All My Reviews "I am very pleased having purchased this CD. Weissenberg's technique with Scarlatti is flawless. He has such a lightness to his touch, so full of color in sounds, very clear as well. Scarlatti's works in this album are very musical and reminds me of Bach. A beautiful collection to have playing in the morning." Report Abuse
