It is a historical document of a concert evening, which brings together eleven of the greatest opera-voices, with a superb programme of famous arias from Italian, Russian and German operas performed in one of the world's oldest and most prestigious opera houses – Moscow's Bolshoi Theatre. The evening is hosted by no less than the Spanish star tenor José Carreras.
* Highlights of the gala include Lucia Aliberti singing Vincenzo Bellini's 'Ah se una volta sola' from La Sonnambula, and Alan Titus as Leoncavallo's Tonio from his masterpiece I pagliacci. Hermann Prey also featured, singing 'Lied an den Abendstern' from Richard Wagner's Tannhäuser.
