Notes and Editorial Reviews

Miraculously, the Eton Choirbook survived Henry VIII's ransacking of the monasteries. Thanks to its survival, the sacred music of the English fifteenth-century is still with us. conjuring up the atmosphere and spirit of the glorious cathedrals for which it was written. It also gives a tantalising glimpse of a wealth of choral music which was lost.

"wonderful music, wonderfully performed...sit back and let these glorious sounds fill your ears and lift your spirits." - GRAMOPHONE

NO SUNG TEXTS, NO SALE January 8, 2013 By James Komar (Saskatoon, SK) See All My Reviews "I love fine choral music and would definitely purchase this album if it contained sung texts. If the words are important enough to set to music, they are important enough to be understood by the person listening to the music. Unfortunately, the Arkiv review, as usual, does not provide this information. I shall not consider purchasing this album until I know that it contains the sung texts." Report Abuse
