Notes and Editorial Reviews

For more than six decades, pianist Jacques Loussier has explored where the structure and traditions of classical music intersect with the spontaneous and exploratory nature of jazz. In more recent years with Telarc and a newly formed trio assembled in the 1980s – Loussier expanded his repertoire by taking a similar approach to composers like Debussy, Ravel, Vivaldi, Beethoven and others. In honor of Jacques Loussier’s 80th birthday year, Telarc is releasing two, specially priced 2CD sets that showcase the breadth of his legendary career. The tracks on each set were personally chosen by Jacques as Read more his favorites. One 27 track set containing works of J.S. Bach and the second, selections from 10 other composers Jacques has lent his jazz arrangements to over the years. Read less
