5 Cheers for Music From The Time Of The Crusades February 13, 2013 By James Spence (Victoria, BC) See All My Reviews "This is the best music acquisition that I've made in several years. The 2 disc collection keeps finding its way back onto my CD player. It is an outstanding compilation of selections of various genres of the music prevalent during the period of the early Crusades. As such, there is a great variety of music presented, from Gregorian chant to traditional folk tunes. Vocal and instrumental music are both well represented. Music that ranges from the emotionally moving to the just plain toe-tapping inducing. Performers found on the collection include some of the greatest names in early music, such as Jordi Savall and David Munrow. The sound quality is excellent. I have no hesitation in predicting that both the listener familiar with music of this period, and those who are new to it, will enjoy it thoroughly. I cannot recommend it more highly." Report Abuse
